Southwest Newspapers is looking for a strong team player for our IMarketplace.mn Classified Advertising Department.
This is a great opportunity to work with local businesses and individuals in the southwest Twin Cities area, and to help them sell their products or services through the print, online and mobile services that this family-owned company provides.
The IMarketplace.mn Classified Advertising Department is small, and is transitioning from a traditional inbound sales environment to an aggressive outbound and online sales approach. Our products are being re-engineered into multimedia tools for helping people and companies to find and sell their services, hire, market homes and apartments, and promote their new and used cars.
Experience from a broad range of fields is desired. Experience in classified advertising sales, data entry and pagination using Quark is preferred. A winning attitude; problem solving skills; attention to detail; a desire to help customers; a willingness to make a lot of sales calls, and a great, honest work ethic is as important as experience.
This is a direct sales and pagination position. The ability to multi-task in a deadline driven environment is a must for success. You’ll be expected to make dozens of sales calls each day, initiating new-business efforts with auto dealers, real estate agents and brokers, employers and other businesses. Most sales will be made by telephone, but after training some outside sales calls may be incorporated into your responsibilities. A car and a clean driving record are required. (Mileage and other expenses are reimbursed.)
Compensation includes a base hourly rate with substantial commissions and bonuses. Standard employee benefits include healthcare insurance, paid vacation and more.
